APN Staffing is now hiring for a Scientist in the Nashville area. Our client the State of Tennessee is looking for a candidate to join their Molecular Section – Whole Genome Sequencing division. This is a long-term project until June of 2024 with office hours of (8:00 am to 4:30 pm) Monday – Friday on-location in Nashville. The hourly rate of pay is $35.03 per hour.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for routine laboratory testing and work of moderate difficulty as it relates to microbiological and/or molecular areas
Duties may include first level troubleshooting, guidance to entry level staff and work of moderate difficulty
Performs other tasks as required
Requirements
Have successfully completed a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician program (OR) Have graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in life sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology, or biochemistry), Medical Laboratory Science, pre-medicine, or other acceptable science and (OR) Meet CLIA Testing Personnel Qualification Category set forth in federal CMS regulations 42 CFR, 493.1489
Have one year of full-time professional work experience in the Clinical Laboratory field
Candidates must have 16 hours of Biology Courses, 16 hours of Chemistry courses, 3 hours Pre-Science Math, and 12 hours specific Biology including Microbiology
