PRIMARY THERAPIST

MESA , AZ.

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity with hours Mon – Fri 8-5pm

$65,000.00 ++ DOE

JOB SUMMARY:
The therapist will perform assessments, individual therapy and facilitate group sessions as assigned using industry recognized therapeutic modalities and interventions and complete all required paperwork per timelines established to ensure successful billing of services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides direct support services to include engaging clients in individual therapy, group therapy, health and wellness promotion, and crisis management.
2. Conducts assessments or screenings with clients to evaluate the nature of their presenting problems in order to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plan goals.
3. Develops and provides individual treatment plans; monitors, evaluates and documents client’s progress.
4. Has responsibility for intake documentation. Prepares progress notes, event notifications and other documentation regarding clients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
5. Monitors case load daily to ensure required documentation is completed timely; including, but not limited to, assessments, treatment plans, case reviews and discharge plans.
6. Facilitates coordination of care to include case review, therapeutic interventions, and client progress in treatment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field and current licensure in Arizona with the AZBBHE.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED
Knowledge and experience in counseling and case management with mental health and substance abuse clients.

Ability to prepare, implement, and analyze treatment plans and psychiatric reports
Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information.
Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strength, privacy and choice, recognizing the unique needs of the client population served by the agency.

Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse.. Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and the common side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
Provide ethical and professional services to clients and families ensuring confidentiality laws including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) are adhered to at all times.
Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to himself or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, is experiencing a crisis situation or medical emergency.
